About “The Kings” Dance Group

Kings United India or Kings United, internationally known as “The Kings” is an Indian hip hop/stunt/theatrics dance group from Vasai, a suburban town in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In 2015, they became the first Indian group to win a medal at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship held in San Diego, California. They are also the first Indian team to win NBC’s World of Dance competition (2019) held in Los Angeles, California.

Suresh Mukund (born on December 24, 1987), is the choreographer/mentor/director of the group. Kings United competed in the famous Indian dance reality show, Dance Champions, telecasted on Star Plus. Their life journey was noticed & later adapted into the movie ABCD 2

In 2009, Suresh Mukund along with Vernon Monteiro formed the hip hop dance group ‘Fictitious Dance Group’ which participated in dance reality shows:

2009 – Boogie Woogie (Winner)
2010 – Entertainment Ke liye Kuch Bhi Karega (Winner)
2010 – India’s Got Talent (Third)
2011 – India’s Got Talent (Winner)
2015 – World Hip Hop Dance Championship (3rd: Bronze Medalist)
2019 – World of Dance (Winner)
During this time, they changed their group name to “SNV Group” based on the first name of their initials i.e, “Suresh & Vernon”.

In 2012, SNV group finished eighth at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Remo D’souza’s ABCD 2 movie, starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, was based on the real life story of their participation in HHI.

After the release of the movie, Mukund’s partner left the crew due to creative differences which was going on for quite sometime and the group split

On May 6th, 2019, they won the American dance reality show World of Dance Season 3 with a perfect score of 100, thus winning a prize money of US$1 million. In a recent interview with a youtube channel, Mukund told that 80% of the winnings will be shared among the team members. When asked about their upcoming projects, he told that there are talks of them featuring in a music video of Jennifer Lopez. The crew is also planning for a world tour and conducting international dance workshops. He also mentioned that their 3 performances from the World of Dance show are submitted for Emmy Award nominations. Talking about his personal plans, he said that he wants to enter Bollywood and do something there. He will also be judging a dance show in near future.
