Movie Theraphy - For the Love of the game - The Zone Love, Game, Baseball, Kevin Costner, Zone, God, Spiritual, Team Effort, Passion We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. ~ Hebrews 12:2 (New Living Translation)

Just as a picther needs to keep his eyes on the strike zone, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus. In the movie, Billy Chapel is aiming for the perfect game, that is, nine innings with no one getting on base. For any baseball pitcher that is the dream goal of their game. But no pitcher can accomplish this on their own. His teammates must give their full support to the lonely pitcher who is at the center stage. The church I the body of Christ and in it we all have our functions. When we all play our roles within the body the whole organism can grow an mature.

As individual disciples of Christ we need to stay focused, immersed in our relationship with God.

The concept of “being in the zone” during an athletic performance fits within Csíkszentmihályi’s description of the Flow experience, and theories and applications of “being in the zone” and its relationship with athletic competitive advantage are topics studied in the field of sport psychology.

Flow is the mental state of operation in which the person is fully immersed in what he or she is by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV)

Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. ~2 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV)
